VISITING MARBELLA?? WHAT NOT TRY A VISIT TO THE SNOW???

For a total contrast from the beach, why not try a visit to the snowy slopes of Sierra Nevada Ski Resort?

Located about 30 minutes to the east of Granada town,  Sierra Nevada is only 250km,  or around 2,5-3,0 hours drive away from Marbella,  making it a great destination for a special day trip or a short stay.

It is Europe's southern most ski resort and the mountain range includes the highest point in continental Spain which stands at 3479m above sea level and there is usually sufficient snow for skiing and snowboarding from late November/early December - end of April/ early May.

The picturesque Pradollano village,  which is about 2100m above sea level, offers many options for classes, half-day or daily ski & snowboard hire,  including all of your clothes and equipment.  There is cable car access to the upper level from the village for skiers and non-skiers alike, chair-lifts and a great selection of shops, bars & restaurants in the village, where you can enjoy the apres-ski looking over the beautiful mountain views of Granada.

There are 2 cable cars which travel up from Pradollano to Borreguiles, the main upper level (2675m above sea level) where you can find more ski schools, a large cafeteria and bars,  music from a selection of DJs and access to the slopes.  The resort includes slopes suitable for all levels from beginners to experienced including the longest slope style in Europe with 71 modules and also the largest half-pipe in the country.  Or for those just wanting to enjoy a day in the snow,  there is also a recreation area by the village which has ice-skating, a toboggan ride, snow-bikes & a doughnut run :)
